How long does a data center relocation take?
The timeline depends on the size and complexity of the move. A smaller relocation of 10–15 racks can be completed in a single weekend, while large-scale moves of 30+ racks typically take 2–5 days. nesevo recently relocated over 30 racks from Amsterdam to Lille in just 2.5 days, ahead of schedule. We provide a detailed project plan before every move so you know exactly what to expect.
Will my systems experience downtime during the relocation?
nesevo's goal is always zero downtime. We achieve this through careful planning, phased migration strategies and pre-move testing. Our team manages everything from decommissioning and secure transport to reinstallation, patching and go-live testing, so your systems come back online as fast as possible and in full working order.
Do you handle international data center relocations?
Yes. nesevo operates globally, with offices and teams across Europe, the USA, Asia, and beyond. In the UK, we work across the whole country, with particularly fast response times in London and the South East, including the Equinix campus in Slough. We use our own fleet and in-house staff for every move, with no third-party logistics vendors involved.
What happens to decommissioned hardware after the move?
nesevo offers certified data erasure for all decommissioned drives using Certus software (NIST SP 800-88 compliant). Hardware that passes erasure can be resold through our IT Buyback programme. Drives that cannot be wiped are physically destroyed on-site and handed to certified recycling partners. In Frankfurt, we decommissioned 1,600+ servers and wiped 20,000 drives in two days.
Does nesevo handle cabling and reinstallation at the new site?
Yes. Our 360° service covers every step: disassembly, secure packing, transport, rack reinstallation, structured cabling, patching and final go-live testing, all under one roof with complete documentation.
