Data Center Relocation to France

Data Center Relocation to France

At nesevo, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional, end-to-end solutions for data center relocations. This was no different when we were tasked with moving a large data center from Amsterdam to Lille, France. Our dedicated teams from across the globe collaborated to manage every aspect of this complex operation—without outsourcing any part of the process. From the planning phase to final cleanup, we ensured a smooth transition for our client, leaving nothing behind but an empty, pristine data center cage.

Phase 1: Structured Cabling at the New Site

The relocation process began well before any equipment was moved. In the first phase, our team focused on preparing the new site in Lille. This involved a coordinated effort between nesevo teams in France, Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, and the U.S., working alongside trusted local manufacturing partners.

Our APAC team managed the production and organization of all necessary cables, ensuring that everything adhered to our client’s approved color coding scheme. Once the cables were manufactured and labeled, our highly skilled French cabling team took over, installing the structured cabling with precision. Utilizing advanced testing equipment from Fluke Corporation, they conducted thorough tests to guarantee that both fiber and copper installations met the highest industry standards.

Nesevo recently expanded its service offerings to include certified testing for fiber and copper installations, and this project marked one of our first implementations of these services. The success of this phase set the foundation for the next critical steps in the relocation.

Phase 2: Seamless Equipment Relocation

Once the cabling at the new site was confirmed to be in perfect working order, we moved to the heart of the project: relocating the servers and other equipment from Amsterdam to Lille. This phase required meticulous planning, detailed documentation, and constant communication with the client to ensure a seamless migration with no disruption to services.

Our expert deployment teams managed the physical move, packing the equipment securely and transporting it under nesevo’s direct control. By handling every aspect of the logistics ourselves, we minimized risks and maintained a high level of accountability throughout the entire process.

Once the equipment arrived in Lille, our teams worked efficiently to integrate everything into the new setup, testing every piece of hardware and system along the way to ensure the migration was flawless.

Phase 3: Wrapping Up and Delivering Perfection

As with every project nesevo undertakes, we are committed to delivering perfection right up until the last detail is complete. After the servers were successfully migrated and operational in Lille, we turned our attention back to the original data center in Amsterdam.

Our team completed a thorough decommissioning of the space, ensuring that no loose ends were left behind. The final step was closing the data center cage, which we cleaned and left in pristine condition—ready for its next chapter.

A Milestone Achievement

Completing this data center move ahead of schedule was a testament to nesevo’s dedication, expertise, and ability to manage large-scale projects across multiple countries. From structured cabling to server migration, from decommissioning to final cleanup, nesevo was there every step of the way – demonstrating once again our hands-on approach to delivering exceptional results.

We take immense pride in our ability to provide a comprehensive 360° service. With the addition of certified testing for fiber and copper installations, we’re excited to continue expanding our capabilities and delivering world-class solutions for clients around the globe.

Stay tuned as we continue to achieve major milestones, and let us know how we can help with your next data center project!
