ITAD Services

What's included in nesevo's ITAD services

IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) is the process of securely retiring, recovering value from, and responsibly disposing of end-of-life IT equipment. At nesevo, ITAD isn't a side service - it's a core part of what we do, delivered in-house, globally, and to the highest certification standards.

Physical Shredding

For drives that cannot be wiped or require physical destruction, nesevo performs on-site disk shredding at our certified facilities. Each destroyed unit is documented with a shredding certificate, ensuring zero data recovery risk and full regulatory compliance.

It Buyback

nesevo's IT Buyback programme puts a value on almost any equipment - servers, networking gear, laptops, screens, phones - and makes your disposal process cost-neutral or even profitable. We handle pickup, inventory, data wiping, and payment.

Data Center decommissioning

nesevo manages full data center decommissions — rack disassembly, hardware inventory, secure transport, certified data erasure, and remarketing or recycling of all assets. One provider, zero gaps.

Why nesevo

Why enterprises choose nesevo for ITAD

In-house, not outsourced

Unlike brokers who hand your assets to third parties, nesevo owns the entire process. Our own staff, our own fleet, our own facilities. This means full chain-of-custody from the moment your assets leave your premises — no visibility gaps, no undocumented handoffs.

Certified to the standards

NIST SP 800-88 Rev.1 for data erasure. ISO 14001 for environmental management. EcoVadis top 25% for sustainability. GDPR-compliant documentation. Our certifications aren't marketing, they're the baseline our enterprise and government customers require.

Full documentation, every serial number

Every device that passes through nesevo's ITAD process is tracked and documented at serial number level. You receive a complete inventory, erasure certificates, and a chain-of-custody report — everything you need for an audit, an insurance claim, or a compliance review.

Global reach, local presence

With offices and teams across Europe, the USA, Asia, and beyond, nesevo can execute ITAD programmes across multiple sites and countries under a single contract. Consistent standards, consistent documentation, consistent outcomes — wherever your assets are.

Value recovery, not just disposal

ITAD doesn't have to be a cost centre. nesevo's buyback programme means that hardware with residual value gets remarketed, reducing or eliminating your net disposal cost. We're transparent about valuations and handle the entire remarketing process for you.

The Process

How nesevo's ITAD process works

1

Asset assessment & inventory

We begin with a full inventory of your IT assets — type, model, serial number, condition, and estimated residual value. This gives you a clear picture of what you have and what it's worth before anything moves.

On-site or remote

2

Secure collection & transport

nesevo collects your equipment using our own fleet and trained staff. Every asset is logged and tracked from the moment of collection. High-security transport available for particularly sensitive hardware.

Own fleet, own staff

3

Data erasure or physical destruction

All storage media undergoes certified data erasure (Certus, NIST SP 800-88 Rev.1) or physical disk shredding for drives that require it. A certificate is issued for every serial number processed — no exceptions.

NIST SP 800-88 · GDPR compliant

4

Value recovery & remarketing

Hardware with residual value is assessed for buyback. Agreed items are remarketed through nesevo's channels, with proceeds returned to you. This step often makes the entire ITAD programme cost-neutral.

Often cost-neutral

5

Certified recycling of remaining assets

Hardware that cannot be reused is shredded and passed to certified e-waste recycling partners. You receive recycling certificates and a full downstream report — zero landfill, full accountability.

ISO 14001 · Zero landfill

6

Final documentation & reporting

We deliver a complete ITAD report: full asset inventory, data destruction certificates, chain-of-custody records, recycling certificates, and (if applicable) buyback settlement. Everything audit-ready in one package.

Questions

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What does ITAD stand for?

ITAD stands for IT Asset Disposition — the process of securely retiring, recovering value from, and responsibly disposing of end-of-life IT equipment. A complete ITAD programme covers data destruction, remarketing, and certified recycling.

How is ITAD different from simply recycling old hardware?

Standard e-waste recycling focuses only on environmental disposal. ITAD goes further — it includes certified data destruction (so no data can ever be recovered), chain-of-custody documentation for compliance purposes, and value recovery through remarketing of reusable assets. ITAD is a risk management and compliance process as much as it is an environmental one.

Is nesevo's ITAD service GDPR compliant?

Yes. nesevo's data erasure process uses Certus software, certified to NIST SP 800-88 Rev.1 — the internationally recognised standard for secure data sanitisation. Every erasure is documented with a certificate per serial number, giving you the audit trail required to demonstrate GDPR compliance.

Can nesevo handle ITAD across multiple countries?

Yes. nesevo operates globally with offices and teams across Europe, the USA, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, and beyond. We can execute ITAD programmes across multiple sites and countries under a single contract, with consistent standards and documentation throughout.

What happens to the data on our drives?

All storage media is either wiped using certified software erasure (Certus, NIST SP 800-88 compliant) or physically shredded on-site. You receive a destruction certificate for every serial number. Drives that cannot be verified as securely erased are shredded — there are no exceptions.

Can we recover value from our decommissioned hardware?

Yes — through nesevo's IT Buyback programme. We assess residual value on almost any hardware, from servers and networking equipment to laptops and phones. In many cases, the buyback value covers or exceeds the cost of the ITAD service, making the process cost-neutral.

How long does an ITAD project take?

Timeline depends on the volume and complexity of assets. A small office decommission can be completed within a day. A multi-site data center ITAD programme is typically scoped over several weeks. We provide a detailed project plan before every engagement so you know exactly what to expect.
