Certified data wiping at nesevo: erase every drive, reuse what you can
Certified data wiping is a core part of our IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) service. Before we resell, reuse or recycle a server drive, we make sure nothing on it can be recovered. Here is how that works, from the wipe itself to what happens to drives that fail it.
Certified data wiping with Certus
We wipe all server hard drives and SSDs with Certus Software, which carries certification to the NIST SP 800-88 Rev.1 standard. This covers every drive we handle. Once we have wiped a drive, the data is gone for good and nobody can recover it. That protects our customers and makes reuse of the hardware safe.
Sustainability through reuse
We prefer reuse over recycling. Once a drive is clean, we can resell it or add it to our stock of service parts for customers. Both options keep the hardware in use for longer. That cuts electronic waste and helps our customers run a more sustainable IT operation. Security and sustainability point in the same direction here: because the data is gone, there is no reason to scrap good hardware.
On-site physical destruction for drives that fail the wipe
But if a drive does not pass the wiping process, we destroy it physically on-site. These drives never leave our facility with data intact. Afterwards, we hand the remains to certified recycling partners, who process them in line with strict data protection and environmental standards.
A transparent and traceable process
From inventory intake to final packaging, every drive stays traceable. That’s why customers can see what happened to each asset and know we handled it securely and responsibly.
