Rack tilt unit: moving fully populated racks through the tightest data centers
The nesevo rack tilt unit moves fully populated racks through places where standard equipment gives up. Not every data center was built with moving equipment out in mind: doors are low, corridors are narrow, and a rack full of servers often won’t fit through upright. This is where many relocation projects get stuck.
We built our own answer. The unit tilts a rack with all its servers still installed and guides it safely through low-clearance zones and narrow corridors, even where conventional gear can’t follow. No unracking everything first, no rebuilding the rack at the other end.
It is part of a larger setup for data center moves. We run our own truck fleet, from 40-tonners down to Sprinter vans, and transport servers in trolleys we produce ourselves. Whole loaded racks can travel in one piece, which means fewer handling steps and less risk for the hardware. The tilt unit gets those racks out of the building in the first place. If you’re planning a move like this, have a look at our data center relocation service.
We developed the unit ourselves and our own technicians operate it. The people who plan the move know exactly what the tool can do and where its limits are, and that makes the difference on site.
We like to call ourselves the sherpas of IT. From the first cable to the last rack, we guide, carry and deliver where others can’t.
The rack tilt unit is one more example of our 360° approach: procurement, manufacturing, logistics, installation, patching and testing, all executed by our own people. No third parties. The unit has been used in deployments around the world.
